CHAPTER ONE : What is Health Creation? - Jeremy Schubert and J. Brian Clark

Healthcare is no longer defined by treating patients during acute care episodes only. Healthcare is now defined by treating the person holistically, promoting the health of mind, spirit, and environment as well as the body. With this lens, healthcare constituents must take a person’s full life-course into account, from birth until death, and create health across this continuum, not just managing sickness.

      Learning Objectives:
      • Understand the opportunities the laboratory has to create value upstream and downstream within the healthcare organization and beyond
      • Rethink how to fundamentally operate a laboratory
      • Learn how GC Labtech has improved the operations of their laboratory and how Abbott has partnered with them in this journey
