α-synuclein is a neuronal protein rich in 140 amino acids, mainly expressed in the presynaptic terminals of the central nervous system. Pathological α-synuclein aggregation plays an important role in Parkinson's disease. It was found that the exosomal secretion of α-synuclein increased after the formation of autophagosome was damaged, so as to reduce the load of α-synuclein in cells. This compensatory mechanism can prevent α-synuclein induced neuronal death.
