This CD4+ T cell line was generated from a normal donor with HLA-DRB1*0401 and *0701. The T cells are specific for the Proinsulin 73-90 peptide (GAGSLQPLALEGSLQKRG) and are HLA-DRB1*0401 restricted. Upon stimulation with autologous APC and the Proinsulin peptide, these T cells secrete Th2 cytokines (i.e., IL-10, IL-5 and IL-13) and a moderate level of IFN-gamma.
