    Back pain

Broadly, back pain encompasses any physical discomfort in the spine or back region. Back pain can be caused by underlying disease or overuse. In cases where back pain occurs in the absence of disease, causes can include heavy lifting, exercise, sitting for long periods of time, or sleeping in an awkward position.
