    Cancer diet

While all cancers are different there is no diet specifically recommended for cancer patients in general so any dietary changes should be discussed with a medical professional. Foods that may be helpful to add to diet during cancer treatment include plant-based proteins (ie vegetables, beans, and nuts), healthy fats (ie avocados, olive oil, and walnuts), healthy carbs (ie whole wheat, bran, and oats), and anti-inflammatory vitamins and minerals (ie vitamin D found in milk and yogurt). It may also be recommended that cancer patients avoid foods that are associated with a high-risk of foodborne illness, such as raw fish, or eggs and unpasteurized dairy products, as they may be immunocompromised during treatment.
