    Lizards

Lizards are a large group of squamate (scaled) reptiles containing over 7,000 species. Almost all are quadrupedal meaning they use four legs to walk or run but some without legs have long, snake-like bodies. Most lizards are carnivores, some consuming small, insect species and others prey on mammals.
