    Manipulation and analysis of DNA

Manipulation of DNA-also called genetic engineering or genetic modification-is a process which uses lab-based technologies to alter the DNA markup of a given organism. Manipulation and subsequent analysis of DNA have led to the production of medically important products like human insulin, human growth hormones, and the hep B vaccine.
