PCRs, or polymerase chain reaction, is a laboratory technique used to amplify copies of a specific segment of DNA in order for it to be studied in greater detail. It invovles used short sections of DNA fragments called primers to select the part of DNA to be amplified, and then many rounds of DNA synthesis to amplify that segment.
