Identifying Food Poisoning

WRITTEN BY: Carmen Leitch

Many of us are unfortunately familiar with the tell-tale symptoms of food poisoning; stomach cramps, vomiting, and diarrhea can be a standard part of any bout with a foodborne pathogen. But you may not know that there are at least thirty different kinds of germs that can cause food poisoning. Those are only the ones that have been confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The actual number is probably far higher.

All of those pathogens each come with their own incubation time. They also cause different symptoms and contaminate different foods.
