Can Breakfast Help in Weight Loss?

WRITTEN BY: Nouran Amin

Does eating breakfast really help you lose weight? Well, according to diet websites it is true. However, research has attempted to answer this question. In a 2016 study, researcher assigned randomly individuals who have body mass indexes (BMI) in the obesity range to either eat breakfast (about 700 calories) for 6 weeks or to avoid breakfast, also for six. weeks. The rule was breakfast must be ingested or avoided before 11:00 am. The results of the study were mixed. Some researchers theorize that the idea behind breakfast aiding in weight loss is that missing the most important meal of the day will deplete your energy and thus increase your caloric intake making you gain weight. Others believe that missing breakfast can slow your metabolism and not burn fat as much. Regardless, of these theories eating breakfast is still very crucial because it comes with great health benefits. Watch the video above to learn more!
