Is There Actually a Such Thing as Natural Food Anymore?

WRITTEN BY: Anthony Bouchard

Natural foods are typically thought to be healthier and better for you than genetically modified or processed counterparts by many people. But what really sets them apart?

The FDA has reportedly attempted to generate a new type of food label called "natural" that would set one type of food apart from another, but they've realized that it's harder than originally thought to categorize food as "natural."

In the wild exist all kinds of fruits, vegetables, and animals, which have been mutated in many ways, both naturally and unnaturally. Those plants and animals have inter-bred, and now we have mutants upon mutants.

Moreover, the process at which food is processed after it's gathered from nature also has an effect on how "natural" food really is, but in many cases, food is inedible without processing.

So where do we draw the line? How do we know what's natural and what's not? Well… that's the million-dollar question!
