Abstract
Cell painting has established itself as a powerful tool for high content imaging, able to generate vast quantities of data in response to chemical perturbations. Over the past decade, cell painting experiments have traditionally focused on a narrow range of well-studied cell lines against a range of tool compounds. However, as the field evolves there is a growing interest in extending the utility of this powerful technique to a broader array of cell types, including previously untested cell lines and primary cells. This webinar will explore the challenges and opportunities associated with cell painting in these largely untested systems, looking at different cell lines and their utility in studying phenotypic changes in response to compounds. By assessing different cellular lineages, it is possible to show different phenotypic responses to the same treatment, highlighting a potentially important predictive tool in the future of drug discovery.

Learning Objectives
  • Learn the fundamental principles of cell painting and how the technique can be applied across diverse and previously untested cell types
  • Understand how to interpret complex data sets from multiple cell types and identify phenotypic signatures for biological relevance
  • Discover practical tips and troubleshooting approaches for staining consistency, acquisition quality and organelle differentiation whilst minimizing bleed-through
  • Gain an insight into the challenges and solutions when adapting the established cell painting protocol to diverse cell types as well as identifying critical controls to help ensure rigorous benchmarking.

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
