Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a major public health issue causing significant morbidity and mortality along with significant monetary impacts. Pregnancy increases the risk of VTE, which can be life threatening for the mother and can negatively impact the developing fetus in a negative fashion. Management of a successful pregnancy involves prevention of a first or recurrent VTE in at-risk patients. This webinar will focus not only on VTE management generally, but also feature current literature based on clinical studies in pregnant women, highlighting the need for appropriate clinical laboratory management.
