Analyzing sea water is never an easy task. With high total dissolved solids (TDS), seawater is considered one of the most difficult matrices to analyze for the presence of heavy metals and other trace elements. Plus, trace elements in open-ocean seawater are even lower compared to coastal areas and are more challenging to accurately measure using quadrupole ICP-MS.
Learning Objectives
- Innovative methods for the direct analysis of trace elements in seawater using universal cell technologies (UCT)
- Multi-quadrupole technology with interference-free analysis for the accurate detection of low-level amounts of elements in open-ocean seawater
