Optimizing Glycan Separations and Analysis by HPLC

    Biography
      Lance Kasper has a Masters in Medical Biotechnology from University of Illinois. His previous experience includes working at Eprogen, a small CRO and developer of HPLC phases for biomolecule analysis. At Eprogen he performed 2D HPLC separations of complex protein samples using reversed phase and ion exchange methods. Prior to joining Agilent, Lance worked as an application specialist with Intavis Inc. At Intavis he supported lab automation platforms for peptide synthesis, in situ hybridization, and protein digestion for peptide mapping. Lance joined Agilent in 2016 as a technical specialist to support the growing HPLC columns portfolio for biomolecule analysis. At Agilent Lance assists customers with method development, column recommendations, and troubleshooting challenging biomolecule separations.

    Abstract
    This talk will explore HILIC chromatography methods for the analysis of released N-glycans labeled with InstantPC or 2-AB dyes. Best practices for robust methods will be introduced. Method development strategies for resolving critical pairs will be discussed including gradient and mobile phase optimization.
