    Biopharma Business Development Leader
    Biography
      Christopher Colangelo, PhD, MBA is the Agilent Biopharma Business Development Leader for the US and Canada. Prior to joining Agilent, he was the 5th employee and co-inventor of the 454-sequencing platform. In 2003, Chris joined Yale University as a Research Faculty in where he mentored and supervised a research group producing 60+ peer-reviewed publications and directed core research laboratories for four NIH P30 grants, totaling over $21 million worth of research funds.
    • Kenda Evans, PhD
      Field Application Scientist, Agilent Technologies
      Biography
        Dr. Evans received her Ph.D. in Pharmacology from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio focusing on Serotonin 1A receptor pharmacology. She did a post-doc at the University of Houston, College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences concentrating on cardiovascular and respiratory pharmacology. Kenda joined Encysive Pharmaceuticals in the high throughput screening lab where she worked through many screening campaigns and had specific project management responsibilities. After 5 years with Encysive Pharmaceuticals, she joined PerkinElmer as a field application scientist with the high throughput screening reagents and plate readers group. In 2011 Kenda joined Agilent Technologies as a product specialist in the automation workflow group where she continues to work to build out new applications using the Bravo liquid handler for automated sample preparation. The combination of formal training in Pharmacology and the more than 9 years of experience in the automation division at Agilent allow Kenda to enable many efficient workflow solutions for all automation needs.
      • Rebecca Glaskin
        Application Scientist, Agilent Technologies
        Biography
          Rebecca Glaskin is an LC/MS Application Scientist at Agilent with a focus on BioPharma applications supporting the LC-Q/TOF and IM-QTOF platforms. Prior to joining Agilent, Rebecca received her Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Indiana University in the lab of Professor David Clemmer. While there she designed and constructed home-built instruments, pushing the limits of the mobility resolution that can be obtained with a circular drift tube for the separation of biomolecules (peptides, proteins, carbohydrates, and metabolites). While there, she also studied hydrogen/deuterium exchange of proteins in the gas-phase as a function of time and pressure. Rebecca then went to Boston University as a Postdoctoral Associate in the lab of Professor Catherine Costello to develop a database containing collision cross section values for glycans, peptides, and glycopeptides utilizing Agilent Technologies 6560 IM-QTOF. This database can be used to determine how the collision cross section is altered with the addition of individual saccharide units. The trendlines obtained from this database will be used to predict collision cross sections for glycopeptides based on the conformation and structure of the specific glycoform.
        • Aled Jones
          Marketing Manager, Biosconsumables - Agilent Technologies
          Biography

            Aled Jones is Marketing Manager for Biosconsumables at Agilent, focusing on tools for glycobiology, and joined the company via the acquisition of Bay Area-based ProZyme by Agilent Technologies. He received his B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in biochemistry from Cardiff University, completing graduate work in the connective tissue biology laboratories. This was followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Wyeth Research in Cambridge MA, where he subsequently worked as a Senior Research Scientist.

          • Lance Kasper
            Technical Specialist, Agilent Technologies
            Biography
              Lance Kasper has a Masters in Medical Biotechnology from University of Illinois. His previous experience includes working at Eprogen, a small CRO and developer of HPLC phases for biomolecule analysis. At Eprogen he performed 2D HPLC separations of complex protein samples using reversed phase and ion exchange methods. Prior to joining Agilent, Lance worked as an application specialist with Intavis Inc. At Intavis he supported lab automation platforms for peptide synthesis, in situ hybridization, and protein digestion for peptide mapping. Lance joined Agilent in 2016 as a technical specialist to support the growing HPLC columns portfolio for biomolecule analysis. At Agilent Lance assists customers with method development, column recommendations, and troubleshooting challenging biomolecule separations.
            • David Wong, PhD
              Sr. Applications Scientist - LC/MS Solution, MSD Division, Agilent Technologies
              Biography

                Dr. Wong has more than 20 years of experience working in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Agilent, he worked as Research Scientist and the Proteomics (Mass Spectrometry) Group Leader at DuPont Industrial Bioscience Division (formally Genencor International, Inc.) located in Silicon Valley. Dr. Wong has strong expertise in both small and macromolecules characterization (Identification, Quantitation, Proteomics, Metabolomics and various BioPharma applications).

                Dr. Wong received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from University of California, Santa Barbara. He also served as a Post-doctoral Researcher at the UCSF Mass Spectrometry Facility, Dept. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at University of California San Francisco.

              • John Yan, PhD
                Applications Chemist for the Bioconsumables portfolio within the Chemistries and Supplies Division of Agilent CrossLab
                Biography

                  Dr. John Yan is an Applications Chemist for the Bioconsumables portfolio within the Chemistries and Supplies Division of Agilent CrossLab group. John joined Agilent as part of the ProZyme acquisition where he was an Applications Scientist supporting glycobiology reagents and N-glycan sample preparation and analytical workflows.

                  John has a background in biochemistry and analytical chemistry with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Oregon State University and a Ph.D. in chemistry from Portland State University. His graduate work was in the area of microbial natural products biosynthesis and genetic engineering. This was followed by postdoctoral work at Northwestern University focused on the utilization of mass spectrometry as a tool for natural products research and discovery. From there he joined Life Technologies (Thermo Fisher Scientific) as a Staff Scientist supporting the new product introduction and commercialization process.
