The physics of liquid aspiration and dispensing make viscous liquid handling tricky.
Some liquids (like glycerol) are impossible to accurately pipette manually, and can only be pipetted using an automated liquid handler. Other viscous liquids can be pipetted manually with great success—AND are candidates for automated pipetting, but require tweaking protocol workflow functions to handle them with high precision and minimal sample loss.
Join us for a short session on how to automate viscous liquid handling. We will walk through this demonstration using the Opentrons OT-2 liquid handler, but the methods discussed are equipment agnostic and can be applied to other liquid handlers as well.
Who Should Watch:
• Users of the following applications: Enzymatic assay, PCR Prep and master mixes, NGS prep (Sample Prep libraries), Biotech industries with oil handling, ophthalmic liquids, Glycerol based assays
• Labs doing high throughput liquid handling automation
• Direct OT-2 users who intend to enhance liquid handling experience
• Users/community/decision-makers wanting to learn more about OT-2 capabilities
Learning Objectives:
-
Efficiently handle viscous liquids on the OT-2 and other liquid handlers
-
Reduce reagent waste and improve the reliability of protocols running viscous liquids
-
Improve the precision of viscous liquid handling
Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
