Cellular Senescence: a process that is mainly designed to eliminate unwanted cells by inducing tissue remodeling. Cellular senescence promotes tissue remodeling through three sequential processes: a stable expansion arrest; a secretory phenotype (SASP) that recruits immune cells and modifies the extracellular matrix.
