Matt entered the research field over 20 years ago as a lab animal technician at the TSI/Mason contract research facility. He has worked at both contract facilities such as TSI and OREAD Biosafety as well in industry at Pharmacia, Pfizer, and Sanofi-Aventis. During that period he ... has performed a variety of surgical procedures including device implantation, transplants, orthopedic defect, ocular and vascular implants, cardiac surgery, and brain and spinal procedures. His experience ranges from mice and rats to non-human primates and livestock. In addition, he holds four patents for novel surgical devices and implants and has been training technicians, scientists, veterinarians, and physicians in surgical techniques and procedures for over 15 years. Outside of the surgical realm, he has been a study director, sonographer, Safety Pharmacology scientist, and manager. Currently Matt supervises a team of technicians and surgeon-technicians at Genzyme who support the Boston hub and perform over 1250 surgical procedures a year. Matt was also on the board of directors for the Academy of Surgical Research for over ten years, serving as their program chair for three of them as well as educational chair for two. Currently he is the program chairman for the New England branch of AALAS.

Dr. Laura Perin is an Assistant Professor at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. Dr Perin obtained a master's degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Padova, Italy in 2000 and a Ph.D. in Stem cells and Tissue Engineering at the Harvard ... School of Medicine in 2004. Dr Perin completed her post-doc training at Children's Hospital Los Angeles/Keck School of Medicine in 2009. Dr. Perin's group studies the mechanisms that regulate kidney damage, with specific attention to glomerular injuries. She uses different regenerative approaches including extracellular vesicles, organ a chip technology, and development biology. Dr. Perin has received many intramural and extramural awards from different organizations, including the National Institute of Heath, and has published more than 40 articles in the field of renal regeneration.

Sargis Sedrakyan, Ph.D. is a Children's Hospital Los Angeles and Saban Research Institute Investigator and Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Southern California. Dr. Sedrakyan received his undergraduate degree in Biology at Brooklyn College, the City University ... of New York, his Ph.D. in Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine from University of Padua, Italy and completed a postdoctoral research training in Developmental Biology and Regenerative Medicine at The Saban Research Institute, Children's Hospital Los Angeles and the University of Southern California. His research focuses on understanding the etiology and development of chronic kidney diseases, with an emphasis on the functional role of glomerular endothelial cells, and the development of stem cell-derived extracellular vesicle based applications to treat kidney disease.

Before joining Hurel, Matthew served as the Central and Southern U.S. Regional Sales Manager for Bioreclamation IVT (formerly CelsisIVT), where he was responsible for leading regional revenue generation and new account growth. In that capacity Mr. Shipton organized and led multiple, dedicated strategic initiatives, including establishing the CelsisIVT partnership with the Research Institute for Liver Disease (RILD) in China, as well as consummating long-term supply agreements with a number of the major pharmaceutical companies. Prior to CelsisIVT, Mr. Shipton served as Director of North American Business Development for Cyprotex, PLC, a UK-based contract research organization ("CRO") specializing in preclinical drug discovery services. Before Cyprotex, he was Regional Sales Manager for CellzDirect, a Durham, NC based provider of primary hepatic cell-based products and services which in 2008 was acquired by Invitrogen (now Thermo Fisher). Dr. Daniel Suter studied Biology at the ETH Zurich in Switzerland, receiving a BS degree in Biological Sciences in 1988. He conducted graduate research on neuronal cell adhesion molecules with Prof. Peter Sonderegger in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Zurich ... After receiving a PhD in Biochemistry in 1995, he joined the laboratory of Prof. Paul Forscher at Yale University as a Postdoctoral fellow with support from the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Roche Research Foundation. During his time at Yale University, Dr. Suter made significant contributions to the understanding of the underlying mechanisms of neuronal growth cone motility and guidance, using quantitative high-resolution live cell imaging techniques. For example, he provided the first direct experimental evidence that support the model of substrate-cytoskeletal coupling during growth cone migration. In 2003, he started his own lab at Purdue University as an Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences, continuing to unravel the basic cellular and molecular mechanisms that control the directional movements of neuronal growth cones. His independent research program has focused on the dynamics and mechanics of axonal growth during development and regeneration following injury using both Aplysia and zebrafish as model systems. Since 2017, Dr. Suter is a Professor of Biological Sciences in the Department of Biological Sciences and member of the Purdue Institute for Integrative Neuroscience at Purdue University.
