    Biography

      Janaki Narahari is a Staff Scientist in the Biosciences Division at Thermo Fisher Scientific. She has broad research experience and has developed several products in the areas of cell and protein biology including western blot imaging and quantification systems. She holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry and has post-doctoral experience in the regulation of viral replication by host cell proteins.

    Accurate and efficient data analysis of protein targets is an integral part of the gel and western blot imaging workflow. The Invitrogen iBright Analysis Software is an optimized software application designed to be utilized alongside an iBright Imaging System instrument. Invitrogen iBright Analysis Software provides a variety of unique features and options to streamline image analysis. In this demonstration, we will cover how to view and manage image files within the gallery, walk through general image adjustment (cropping, contrast, applying false color), image analysis (multi frame analysis, lane and band profiling, densitometry, molecular weight estimation), annotations, and generation of reports.

     

    Learning Objectives:

    • Learn how to navigate through the iBright Analysis Software interface

    • Demonstrate routine adjustments for gel and western blot images

    • Understand the basic analysis workflows for improved data analysis
