Scientists from Thermo Fisher Scientific will walk us through the world of microorganisms. They will discuss their most recent research on viruses, bacteria and fungi, and highlight exciting products developed specifically for this kind of research. Some microbes are our friends and have a long list of functions beneficial to human health, while some other bacteria and viruses undermine our health. The first half of the webinar address research on human microbiome residing within our gastrointestinal tract, and gut health through use of probiotics and dieting. The second half will overview the spread of SARS-CoV-2, and ways to robustly detect this virus in human stool, saliva and swabs, as well as to monitor virus in the wastewater samples.
