    Biography
      Elaine Mai obtained her B.S. degree in Biochemistry from University of California, Davis and M.S. in Biomedical Laboratory Science, with emphasis in Clinical Chemistry from San Francisco State University. She is a Senior Scientific Researcher at Genentech in the Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology department working on biotherapeutic programs in areas such as Oncology, Cancer Immunology, and Neurosciences. She has extensive experience in developing PK, immunogenicity, biomarker, cell-based affinity, functional GPCR, proliferation and cytotoxicity assays for antibody screening, characterization, and candidate selection.

        Dr Wu is an Application Scientist at Biosensing Instrument. Has over 15 years of experience developing applications of award-winning technologies and an author of over 100 peer reviewed publications/application notes and 2 books. He has a PhD in Physical Chemistry from University of Guelph and BS in Chemistry from Nankai University.

      Shije Wu - Fundamentals and applications of cell-based SPR
       
       
      SPRm (Surface Plasmon Resonance Microscopy) is a novel technology that enables label-free and real-time binding affinity and kinetics of membrane proteins with drug molecules. By combining cell culture and imaging techniques with biophysical assays, the measurements are done in the receptor’s physiological conditions thus providing direct and more relevant information about the binding events. In this webinar, we will provide an overview of the technology with various small molecule and antibody binding examples. In addition, Genentech will show how this technology can differentiate between monovalent and bivalent binding of anti-HER2 antibodies with different HER2 expression cell lines.
