    Cardiac diseases, also called cardiovascular diseases or heart diseases, are conditions that afflict the heart. Cardiac diseases can include damaged or diseased vessels, structural defects, or blood clots. Examples of cardiac diseases include coronary heart disease, stroke, and peripheral arterial disease.
