    Seeds are the embryo of a plant which is enclosed in a protective outer covering. Seeds for as part of the reproductive process in many plants. In addition, many seeds are edible and a common component of human caloric intake due to their use in foods like cereals, legumes, nuts, spices, cooking oils, and even beverages.
