The cannabis plant is quite aesthetically pleasing and the fan of its leaves has become part of an icon representing its healing potential. But the plant’s anatomy and genetics are quite complex, making the breeding process a careful art in practice.

You probably know that breeding the two main cannabis strains, indica and sativa, has created thousands of different hybrids that are better suited for treating some conditions over others. And our growing knowledge of genetics is paving the way toward even more tightly controlled regulation of these features.
