    Freezing, in food handling, strategy for protecting food by bringing the temperature down to restrain microorganism development. The technique has been utilized for quite a long time in chilly areas, and a patent was given in Britain as ahead of schedule as 1842 for freezing food by drenching in an ice and salt saline solution.
