Immune-mediated diseases
Immune-mediated disease, also called autoimmune diseases, describe medical indications resulting from immune cells attacking healthy tissue throughout the body. Immune cells are programmed to recognize foreign invaders, such as a bacteria, virus, or cancer, and eliminate them. In immune-mediated diseases, these immune cells act abnormally, mistaking normal cells as foreign.
