CRISPR Virtual Event Series 2025

Labroots invites you to the 8th Annual CRISPR Virtual Event Series 2025, taking place on October 22nd, 2025! This event will explore the expanding frontier of CRISPR technology, with sessions covering breakthroughs in gene therapy, cancer research, infectious disease treatment, and synthetic biology. New to this year’s agenda is a focus on CRISPR Diagnostics, highlighting cutting-edge detection platforms and emerging applications like CRISPR-powered search engines for DNA data storage.

The planning committee will convene thought leaders from academia, clinical research laboratories, and the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Attendees will gain valuable insights through real-world case studies, research developments, and expert discussions addressing the latest best practices, ethical considerations, regulatory frameworks, and the rapidly evolving CRISPR intellectual property landscape.

This year's agenda features the following tracks and themes:

CRISPR in Medicine and Gene Therapy

  • Gene Therapy Innovations: Advances in using CRISPR for treating genetic diseases.
  • Cancer Research: Application of CRISPR in developing new cancer therapies, including CAR T-cell therapy.
  • Infectious Diseases: Using CRISPR to combat viral and bacterial infections.

Advances in CRISPR Technology

  • Precision Editing: Latest tools and methods for improving the accuracy of CRISPR gene editing.
  • Anti-CRISPRs: Exploration of newly discovered anti-CRISPR proteins and their applications.
  • Synthetic Biology: CRISPR’s role in creating synthetic organisms and new biological systems.

CRISPR Diagnostics

  • Next-Generation Detection: CRISPR-based platforms like SHERLOCK and DETECTR for rapid, sensitive detection of pathogens and biomarkers.
  • Point-of-Care Applications: Development of field-deployable CRISPR diagnostics for global health.
  • CRISPR-Powered Search Engine for DNA Data Storage: Leveraging CRISPR systems for indexing and retrieving data stored in synthetic DNA archives.

Ethics, Regulation, and Public Perception

  • Ethical Concerns: Discussions on the ethics of human gene editing and biodiversity impacts.
  • Regulatory Landscape: Global regulatory frameworks governing CRISPR technology.
  • Public Communication: Strategies for effectively communicating CRISPR’s risks and benefits.

Intellectual Property and Legal Aspects

  • Patent Disputes: Key legal battles over CRISPR intellectual property rights.
  • Commercialization: Implications of IP issues on the commercialization of CRISPR technologies.
  • Global Regulations: Navigating the complexities of international regulatory requirements.

Call for Posters — Virtual poster sessions offer the opportunity to present data to a global audience via a PDF poster and video summary, and discuss results with interested colleagues through email. Plan now to have your poster included in the 2025 CRISPR Virtual Event. Submission is free. Submit your abstract here.

Our virtual conference allows you to participate in a global setting with no travel or cost to you. The event will remain open for 1 year from the date of the live event, and the webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing. This virtual conference also offers increased reach for the global CRISPR community with a high degree of interaction through live-streaming video and chat sessions.
