As the CEO of Native Roots and Garden Variety, Ryan Brown is responsible for running all facets of the business. He began his tenure in 2016 as Chief Revenue Officer and took the reins of the organization leadership as CEO in 2017. During Ryan's tenure, Native Roots grew from 13 to 20 retail locations, became the first licensed US retailer in the Canadian marketplace with its Garden Variety retail brand, developed a CBD retail concept branded Native Roots Wellness and built out a team and strategy to significantly grow the manufactured product portfolio to include 9 targeted brands. Prior to joining, Ryan was a manager for RevGen Partners leading the education practice charged with business development and delivery of products. He served several major clients including the Denver Public School District with business strategy and implementation as they transitioned to new state standards after the “No Child Left Behind” legislation, impacting more than 5,000 teachers and most academic departments. During his time at RevGen he started the internal Community Service Group, which directed company funds and employee volunteer time to non-profit organizations and grew the commitment 100% each year. Previously he worked as a business consultant at Hitachi Consulting with national healthcare clients, local non- profit organizations, a major Denver construction company and a national electric and gas utility. Raised in Golden, CO, Ryan graduated from the University of Denver with an MBA and a degree in Philosophy and Digital Media. During his time as a graduate student he also started and ran his own web design firm. He has both his Project Management Professional (PMP) and Six Sigma certifications.
Charlie Cain is a Corporate Entrepreneur with 20+ years’ experience developing and inspiring teams to create iconic brands, engaging customer experiences, and high performing cultures in the e-commerce, foodservice, and cannabis industries. Charlie entered Cannabis in 2015 after serving as VP of Retail Operations, Concept Development, and Franchising for Starbucks. After exploring the industry as a consultant for cannabis leaders including Privateer Holdings, Tilray, and Grodan, Charlie took the helm as CEO of Seattle-based Dockside Cannabis in 2016. Voted Best Pot Shop in Seattle 5 of the last 6 years by the readers of Seattle Weekly, Dockside is the longest-operating Medical and Recreational Retailer in Washington State, with four stores operating around the Seattle area. Charlie re-joined Tilray in 2018 as VP, Global Retail to guide the company’s entry into Adult-Use cannabis. There he recruited subject matter leaders from companies including Amazon, Starbucks, Microsoft, and Uber to design and build a Retail Shared Services organization to efficiently develop and support retail brands through national and international expansion. In addition to leading Tilray’s company-owned retail initiatives, Charlie led Retail M&A activity across North America, conducting extensive market research, due diligence, and investment into public and private firms in the US and Canada.
Denise is currently the VP of Sales at Native Roots Cannabis Co., overseeing both the retail and wholesale channels. Prior to Native Roots, Denise led retail for global brands in the natural beauty sector. She has an entrepreneurial mindset with the talent to adapt quickly to changing retail landscapes. Success in retail is elevating the customer experience, inspiring loyalty and developing an effective leadership team. Jennifer Dooley brings a decade of experience building consumer brands, driven by her uniquely creative and analytical approach to identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities to Green Thumb. Prior to joining Green Thumb, Jennifer led strategic Brand Development and Innovation at Storck USA, a top 10 global confectioner, known for brands Werther’s Original, Toffifay, Mamba, merci and RIESEN. There, she managed a $100M brand portfolio P&L and brought to market dozens of new products, including the first non-confection product to come out of the century-old Werther’s Original brand: a Caramel Popcorn that knocked out incumbents, earning #1 ranks in the market, and the 2015 Snack Category Product of the Year. She also ran brand operations for the Werther’s Original Caramel Shoppe in the Germany Pavilion at Walt Disney World’s Epcot. In 2019, Jennifer was named to Marijuana Venture’s “40 Under 40” list and High Times “Female 50.” She earned her MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management with a focus on Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. With 25 years of experience in private equity and investment banking for a variety of industries, Mr. Gardenswartz has been involved in the execution of corporate finance transactions with an aggregate value of over $8 billion. He is a seasoned expert in helping companies successfully navigate phases of hyper-growth, and advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, capital raising and private equity, among other concerns.
Rebecca was born and raised in Chicago. She attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Applied Psychology and Disability & Human Development. With over three years of experience in hospitality, she decided to join the cannabis industry to help others seek safe alternative methods to a higher quality of life. She started working for Mission South Chicago Dispensary in June of 2019 as Assistant General Manager. She helped transition the dispensary from a small team of eight to over fifty employees in preparation for Adult Use sales. Recently promoted to General Manager, Rebecca strives to continue providing a safe and welcoming space, and access to cannabis in the South Chicago community.

After spending several years in the accounting and audit field, Mitch realized that marketing and product development was her true calling. She was hired to introduce Bud Light for Anheuser-Busch, which is now the largest selling beer in the world. AB subsequently put her in charge of leading their new products group for 6 years. The following year, she received a cultivation, production and dispensing license in Missouri for CBD to treat Epilepsy. Cris Rivera is the SVP of Retail Marketing and Customer Experience at Cresco Labs. He oversees operations of the Company's 19+ Sunnyside dispensaries and 500+ retail employees across six states, and is responsible for store development, promotional and assortment strategy, customer experience, marketing and branding, and planning and forecasting. Under Mr. Rivera's leadership, he launched Cresco's retail brand, Sunnyside, evolving traditional dispensaries to modern store environments built on wellness, education and customer service. In the first half of 2020, he led the opening of four Sunnyside stores in Illinois and rebranding of 14 existing dispensary locations in five states, unifying Cresco Labs' store fleet under one national retail brand. He also spearheaded the launch of online ordering for adult-use customers and has consistently grown Sunnyside's customer relationships and return rate. Prior to Cresco Labs, he spent nearly 10 years in various senior brand management roles at MillerCoors, where he led brand turnarounds and expansion of America’s favorite beer brands—Coors Light, Miller Lite and Blue Moon. He spearheaded the repositioning of Miller Lite through a transformation of the brand’s point-of-sale materials from cheap and “sophomoric” to classic and understated, brought back the original white can, and oversaw a marketing campaign presenting Miller Lite as the original light beer and a high-quality choice. These efforts resulted in the rebound of light beer category sales and one of the most significant brand turnaround stories in the past decade. Ad Age named Mr. Rivera one of top influencers in the media, marketing and technology space in its 2015 Class of Young Influentials, and he was featured in Hispanic Executive for his award-winning multicultural marketing work for Coors Light. Before joining MillerCoors, Mr. Rivera began his career in consumer packaged goods at PepsiCo, working in innovation, retail marketing and communications for Tropicana Juices. He is a board member for Crowded Learning, an organization that seeks to provide adults with free, crowd-sourced learning resources to help them build skills and position them for new jobs. He is a former junior board member of the Cabrini Green Legal Aid. Guy Rocourt, Co-Founder and Chief Products Officer Guy is the Co-founder, and Chief Product Officer for Egg Rock holdings. Egg Rock owns Papa & Barkley, a cannabis wellness line of products and Papa’s Select, a cannabis concentrate line. Guy Rocourt is an experienced cannabis entrepreneur and an expert indoor grower, extractor and product development practitioner. Guy has launched multiple companies in the cannabis space, over the last 2 decades, and has deep subject matter expertise. Guy is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology and a Navy veteran. He has designed and built manufactured infused products facilities (MIPs) in California, Nevada and Colorado. In addition to his technical and scientific expertise, he is also an artist with the cannabis plant, continuously envisioning and creating new products. His creativity and understanding of the market and cannabis consumers provides deep insight into strategy, production, due diligence of potential investments and product development. Aside from his creative background and experience in product development, Guy was a long-time caregiver for Montel Williams and has also helped other patients with issues including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Crohn's Disease, cancer and epilepsy. Since the early stages of the Internet, in the mid-1990s, Sparky Rose has grown from a cutting-edge designer into a leading branding and marketing professional with deep expertise and focus in the medical and recreational cannabis industry. A visionary and believer in championing products that help society, he was at the forefront of the cannabis industry from 2003 to 2006 as executive director of Compassionate Caregivers, an Oakland, California-based medical cannabis company. Sparky helped grow the business from two to seven dispensaries in just 18 months. In addition, he had oversight of its three cultivation centers, managed over 280 employees, and oversaw revenue growth to more than $5 million per month. Sparky understands the regulatory issues between states and has been commissioned to consult for numerous cannabis companies in California, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Illinois, where he resides. Prior to co-founding Supercritical, Sparky developed the original branding, design, and packaging for Sacred Mind & Body’s THC and hemp seed oil line. He’s advised the Cannabis Training Institute and ebbu. He was one of the co-founders, with CEO Adam Grossman, of the Papa & Barkley cannabis brand, heading up all branding, design, and packaging. Most recently, Sparky led new product initiatives and retail design and experience as Chief Marketing Officer for Illinois-based PharmaCann. He is known for creating one of the most comprehensive training programs for cannabis patient care representatives as well as consulting and advising on various operational aspects, including the company’s nitrogen flush packaging process. Earlier in his career, Sparky was creative lead at San Francisco-based Viant through its IPO in 1999 and was the head of all eBusiness at Fortune 500 firm Robert Half International (NYSE: RHI) following which he worked in its corporate development/M&A department. In addition, Sparky has consulted with non-cannabis clients including Chanel, DDB, BBDO, Ogilvy & Mather, DirecTV, PepsiCo, and Fox Sports Networks. He has also served as creative director for Discovery Communications’ Digital Cable Networks and Advanced Television Studio. Sparky is a lifelong drummer who played for Bay Area sensation Tang! before his marriage to wife Kat and acquisition of two miniature schnauzers.
Jordan, an Oklahoma native is the founder and co-owner of Green Springs Dispensaries in Edmond and Oklahoma City, OK. She has been immersed in the marijuana industry for more than 12 years. Jordan’s experience began in Durango and Denver, Colorado and encompasses every facet of the industries dispensary, cultivation and processing departments. Incorporating corporate operations and entrepreneurship she has been a leader in the success of several operations across the country. Through legislative process consulting with companies and regulatory agencies in states such as Colorado, Arkansas, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, Oklahoma and New Jersey Jordan will ensure that the industry continues to be successful and professional for both the states and business owners. Jordan graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango where she completed a degree in Environmental Sciences minoring in Biology. Chris was born and raised in a small Texas town before joining the military out of high school. After service, he joined the cannabis industry in Washington state back in 2015. Chris has been incredibly fortunate to work for amazing operators within the cannabis sector since then. He worked with Have a Heart in Washington before heading to California to join Airfield Supply Co. Being with such great companies in two different markets gave Chris incredible insight into why consumers were drawn to certain brands. He served as The Denver Post’s first-ever marijuana editor and founded news vertical The Cannabist, where he extensively covered the advent of adult-use cannabis and related issues across the country and around the world, as seen in the feature documentary Rolling Papers (Netflix). Kaliko Castille is the CEO and Co-Founder of ThndrStrm Strategies, a digital marketing and communications firm focused on helping political campaigns and businesses develop and execute their digital strategy. Before starting ThndrStrm, Kaliko spent 10 years in the marijuana reform movement, starting as an activist and intern for NORML before going on to run sales and marketing for various cannabis industry startups. He most recently served as Director of Marketing for the National Cannabis Industry Association, overseeing their content team and currently sits as Vice President of the Minority Cannabis Business Association.
Arcillia Miller is an entrepreneur, author and self-described “Herb Hypothesizer. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus in Business and Multimedia. Although she travelled extensively, supporting her husband during his military career, family has always been an important part of her motivation.
She is committed to the belief that legalizing medical marijuana would lead to protection for patients who could benefit from its use. Unfortunately, because the plant has been demonized through deep rooted misconceptions, she has focused her energy on education as the key to dispelling misunderstanding. Motivated by this principle, she co-founded Cannabis Education Advocacy Symposium and Expo (C.E.A.S.E.), whose mission was to increase awareness and educate Oklahoma consumers about the medical and economic benefits of cannabis. The result was Oklahoma’s first ever, Cannabis conference which fueled a drive for industry across the state of Oklahoma.
Continuing her desire to advocate for cannabis education, she currently serves as Project Coordinator of Oklahoma Women Cann Association, Co-Director of Social Equity and Director of Education for the OK4U Approved Organization.
Jack Cardetti currently serves as the industry spokesman for the Missouri Medical Cannabis Trade Association, MoCannTrade, where he can regularly be found in state and national news publications serving as the voice for patients and the industry. In this role Cardetti also helps to educate the public on Missouri’s medical marijuana program and works with stakeholders and regulators to ensure Missouri’s implementation is among the best in the country.
In 2018 election cycle, Cardetti led the historic effort to bring medical marijuana to Missouri. He served as General Consultant for New Approach Missouri running the Amendment 2 campaign. The medical marijuana initiative was the leading vote getter on the entire Missouri ballot with 66%, while defeating two other competing medical marijuana initiatives. Cardetti helped draft the constitutional amendment, formed the coalition to pass the measure, and served as the campaign’s spokesman and lead strategist.
Cardetti has previously served as a policy advisor and spokesman for two Missouri Governors and the Missouri Attorney General. He now runs Tightline Public Affairs where he’s one of the state’s most prominent political consultants helping businesses, coalitions and campaigns develop and deliver their message, including the state’s largest medical marijuana trade association.
Jack formerly served as Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon’s Director of Communications, helping the Governor successfully advance a message of job creation and fiscal stewardship that resonated with the citizens of Missouri. Jack and his team at served as General Consultants for Nixon’s double-digit reelection victory.
In 2012 he also helped two-term state representative Jason Kander become the youngest statewide elected official in America. He also led the effort to prevent changes to the Missouri Court Plan by defeating Amendment 3 24-76%, one of the largest defeats on a Constitutional Amendment in Missouri history.
Raised in St. James, Missouri, Jack Cardetti previously worked as the Director of Communications for the Missouri Democratic Party. As the party’s primary spokesman, Jack could ordinarily be found in newspaper articles, on the radio and in television interviews opining on topics ranging from politics to policy.
In the 2008 election cycle Jack helped elect Jay Nixon to the Governor’s Office by the widest margin of any open governor’s race in Missouri since 1964.
In 2006 Jack helped Claire McCaskill knock off incumbent Sen. Jim Talent, which gave Democrats control of the U.S. Senate. Missouri Democrats also picked up seats in both the Missouri House and Senate for the first time in nearly 20 years and helped pass stem cell and minimum wage ballot initiatives.
Prior to joining the Missouri Democratic Party in August 2004, Jack served as Press Secretary for Missouri Gov. Bob Holden. In the Governor’s Office, Cardetti also oversaw economic development and agriculture policy.

Robin Schneider serves as the executive director of the Michigan Cannabis Industry Association. The MICIA is Michigan's largest cannabis trade association, currently representing more than 200 licensed businesses and the companies that service them. The association acts as a united voice for medical and adult-use cannabis businesses and advocates a responsible and successful industry by promoting sensible laws and regulations and industry best practices among members.
Prior to her role at MICIA, Robin spent more than 10 years advocating on cannabis reform issues. She is the former executive director of the National Patient Rights Association where she helped medical marijuana patients advocate for state laws that ensure safe access to medicine. This includes the passage of the Medical Marijuana Facilities Licensing Act and laws allowing for marijuana-infused products to be sold by MMFLA licensees.
In 2018, Robin served as the finance director for the Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol, the organization that led the Proposal 1 campaign to legalize adult-use cannabis for Michigan adults 21 years and older. She was responsible for raising more than $3 million in support for ending prohibition and creating a licensed and regulated industry.
