Best Practices for cfDNA and FFPE Sample Prep to Ensure Successful Downstream Outcomes

    Biography
      Dr. Alex Lopez received his PhD in Biology from Cleveland State University in 2002, with a concentration in Molecular Parasitology and he collected his MBA from Cleveland State University in 2004. He received his Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University in 1995.

      He joined chemagen in 2010 and subsequently PerkinElmer in 2011, following the acquisition of chemagen technologies. Prior to that, he worked as a Research Associate for the USDA-ARS at Cornell University and had a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Case Western Reserve University.

    Abstract

    With the ever increasing value of circulating cell-free and FFPE applications in the genomics industry today, we will present sample prep and collection guidelines to ensure that the quantity and quality of the input DNA for downstream assays involving PCR and NGS, is maximized. The quality of this input is further maximized by the use of chemagen technology, which is designed for scalability in volume and throughput, such as that required for cell-free applications. We will also explore collaborations with Swift Biosciences and Covaris for our key applications in addition to the PerkinElmer workflows available to address your needs.
