    Isotope

Isotope: are variants of a particular chemical element which differ in neutron number and in nucleon number. All isotopes of a given element have the same number of protons but different numbers of neutrons in each atom. Isotopes differ in mass number and the physical properties of atoms, do depend on mass. This is what enables isotopes to be separated from one another.
