Chemical synthesis is the process of taking usually two reagents or compounds, and creating one or more products. Usually done with purified reagents, these reactions occur in an isolated environment such as a flask, and may or may not need outside stimulation such as heat. Modern laboratories have standardized chemical synthesis so that most reactions are reliable and reproduceable.
