    Muscle cells

Muscle cells have the specialized ability to expand and contract to produce bodily movement. There are three types of muscle cells: skeletal, cardiac, and smooth. Skeletal muscle cells generate muscle movement. Cardiac muscle cells facilitate the movement of blood in and out of the hear. Smooth muscle cells control involuntary muscle movement in the body.
