    Organ Preservation

Organ preservation is a process of stabilizing organs removed from a donor while transporting them for transplantation into a living recipient. Organs are preserved in solutions and stored at cold temperatures designed to best maintain the health and function of the organ. The techniques used for organ preservation are directly correlated to morbidity and survival of the recipient post-transplantation.
