    Liver diseases

Liver diseases are characterized by their damaging impacts on hepatic tissue. Many liver diseases are caused by viruses, such as hepatitis A, B, and C. Other liver diseases, including cirrhosis, can also be driven by drug or alcohol abuse, and exposure to toxins or poisons. Additionally, some liver diseases, such as Wilson disease, are genetically passed through generations.
