    Biography
      Katja is working as an Application Specialist at Eppendorf AG focusing on manual Liquid Handling & Consumables since 2018. She has a profound background in cell, micro- and molecular biological techniques.

      After finishing her studies in Biology at the University of Greifswald she performed an internship in Melanoma research at Centenary Institute in Sydney, Australia. In 2017 she received her PhD from the University Medical Center Hamburg (UKE) in a close collaboration with the French company Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmétique for her research on the influence of staphylococci on epidermal Tight Junctions.

      Biography
        Ulrike Gast specializes in applications for liquid handling systems and teaching customers their correct use. She has supported several Eppendorf pipette calibration services world-wide in their accreditation process. Within the frame of the development of a new guideline (DKD R 8-1), she was member of the responsive international technical committee of DKD, an official body for calibration solutions. The guideline defines technical requirements for the calibration of liquid handling systems and the set-up of measurement uncertainty budget for calibration labs.

        Ulrike Gast holds a Ph.D. in biology from the University of Tübingen based on a broad spectrum of methods. She has a great deal of practical experience in both the correct use of liquid handling systems and their performance testing.

        Biography
          Alisa is working as an Application Specialist at Eppendorf AG focusing on manual Liquid Handling & Consumables since 2018.
          She studied Biotechnology and Molecular Biology in Hamburg and gained expertise in various laboratory techniques ranging from classical molecular biology to fly genetics and industrial skin cell research at a well-known cosmetic company.

        Do you know how it feels when you just quickly want to redo an experiment that your colleague did, or an experiment you read about in the latest paper? Will and will it not work out in your lab setup?
         
        One of the most annoying activities in a laboratory is assuring that assays give comparable results. This holds true for either different laboratories or even for different people within one and the same lab; and also when scaling up experiments for higher throughput. Reliable assay transfer safes time and money and is dependent on many factors. Along the lines of “As long as it´s reproducible, the accuracy is not that important” the importance of accurate Liquid Handling is often underestimated or not taken into account.
         
        This webinar explains how crucial transfer of liquids really is to ensure a reliable transfer of experiments. We will dig into some critical points of NGS library preparation, ELISA and qPCR in order to make assay transfer more efficient and thereby save time.
