    Germline Biology

Gernline biology describes the sex cells generated within organisms that undergo sexual reproduction. Germ cells include the egg and sperm cells produced by female and male organisms, respectively. Germ cells are designed with half the chromosomes as other cells allowing them to pass their genome from parent to offspring.
