    Homeostasis

Biological homeostasis is a state of steadiness among physical and chemical conditions within a living system. Many conditions within an organism need to be maintained at homeostasis for optimal function. Body temperature, fluid balance, acidity, water, oxygen, and blood pressure are examples of variables which must be maintained in a certain range.
