Inflammation is a reaction your body conducts in order to assist in the healing process of a wound or infection. One of the most common protein classes involved in this reaction are cytokines. Cytokines are protein signal molecules that produce a response by the body. This response can be a number of things, in this case it would signal the inflammatory response.
