    Leukemia

Leukemia is cancer of the blood that occurs in the blood or bone marrow. Leukemia often impacts the white blood cells, immune cells which typically expand as needed to fight infection. Patients with leukemia produce large quantities of abnormal white blood cells which do not function properly. There are many types of leukemia including acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
