Climate Change: a change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns when that change lasts for an extended period of time (i.e., decades to millions of years). Climate change may refer to a change in average weather conditions, or in the time variation of weather around longer-term average conditions (i.e., more or fewer extreme weather events). Climate change is caused by factors such as biotic processes, variations in solar radiation received by Earth, plate tectonics, and volcanic eruptions. Certain human activities have been identified as primary causes of ongoing climate change, often referred to as global warming.
The global incidence of tick-borne diseases has increased substantially over the last few decades. This is largely due to environmental climate change, the expansion of new tick populations,...
Dengue is rapidly emerging as a major global health threat, exacerbated by climate change and unplanned urbanization. This webinar will explore the increasing burden of dengue as it spreads...
A core goal of neuroscience is to understand how the brain adaptively orchestrates movements to execute complex behaviors. Quantifying behavioral dynamics, however, has historically been pro...
As the demand for renewal fuel feedstocks continues to grow, non-food feedstocks production must significantly increase to meet demand. Winter oilseeds grown in cooler climates provide oppor...
Feeding the world in the midst of climate change and an ever-growing population demands scientists have access to scalable, flexible and sustainable genomic tools that add value to animal br...

While global demand for food is expected to increase significantly (70% by 2050), the agricultural industry is suffering from a decline in soil fertility, the adverse effects of climate chan...
The host response to infection is a critical determinant of virus pathogenicity. Emerging viruses require the host cellular machinery to replicate and successfully infect new hosts, and must...
My group is addressing fundamental questions in evolutionary biology, using both genome- and phenotype-first approaches. A few years ago, we discovered that Arabidopsis thaliana is a great m...
