    Medical Physics

Medical Physics: an applied branch of physics devoted to the application of concepts and methods from physics to the diagnosis and treatment of human disease. Traditionally, medical physics deals chiefly with the use of ionizing or non-ionizing radiation in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Medical Physicists are often found in the following healthcare specialties: diagnostic and interventional radiology (also known as medical imaging), nuclear medicine, radiation protection and radiation oncology.
