Molecular Biology: concerns the molecular basis of biological activity between biomolecules in the various systems of a cell, including the interactions between DNA, RNA, and proteins and their biosynthesis, as well as the regulation of these interactions. Molecular biology explores cells, their characteristics, parts, and chemical processes, and pays special attention to how molecules control a cell's activities and growth. Looking at the molecular machinery of life began in the early 1930s, but truly modern molecular biology emerged with the uncovering of the structure of DNA in the 1960s.
